Jean Monnet Chair of Economics of European
Integration The Jean Monnet Project "European
Integration in University Studies" is a European Commission information
project whose aim is to facilitate the introduction of European integration
studies in universities by means of start-up subsidies. The term European integration studies is
taken to mean the construction of the European Community and its related
institutional, legal, political, economic and social developments. Subsidies awarded in the framework of the
Jean Monnet Project represent co-financing for the setting up of, among
others, Jean Monnet Chairs, a symbolic term corresponding to a full-time
teaching post entirely devoted to the teaching of European integration. The Jean Monnet Project awards funds on a
co-financing basis for a start-up period of three years, in exchange for a
commitment on the part of the university to maintain the teaching activities
thus created for a period of at least four years following the period of
Community co-financing, that is a total period of seven years. For more information, click on the web site
of the Jean
Monnet Project. The course of “Economics of European
Integration” has been selected as “Jean Monnet Chair” by
the European Commission in 2003, with a co-financing project for the period
2004-2007. The first initiative in this context will be the III Milan
European Economy Workshop that will be held on 28th and 29th
May 2004 on the topic “Agendas for an enlarged EU: the challenge of the
growth”. The Workshop will see the participation of qualified representatives
of the national and international research net, that will be involved in a
discussion about the new perspectives of EU political economy. You can find
here a link with teaching materials, research materials of European Economy
Workshops, some interesting working
papers and useful links in this research area. ◊ Lectures ◊ Milan European Economy Workshops |
